wonderful chili loved it
the chili had too much hamburg (for our liking). it also called for way too much chili powder, making it firey hot!! also, the chili did not have enough broth.
Okay if you like bell peppers. No heat.
Great receipe to warm you up. I added 2 cans of tomato soup so it was more like a soup. The A-1 sauce gave it a nice kick! Would make again in a heart beat.
Since my dad passed away three years ago I have been trying to make chili like his, I had no success. I was happy I came across this site. I searched for a chili recipe and I looked at the ratings to see what others thought. I figured this dish had to be good since it had 4 stars so I printed it out and went out to the local store to pick up the ingredients. A couple of days passed, it turned cold and damp outside so I decided what better day to make the chili. I couldn't believe how delicious it was and how familiar it was to my dads recipe, I was happy to finally found a recipe that matched my dads. I give you a 5 star :)
Since my family doesn't go for veggies very much I only used 1/4 of the peppers and about 5 min. before finished I added another 1/4 cup of water for more "juice". My family went wild and I sent everyone the recipe
I prepared this recipe yesterday. This chili has a nice tangy taste. I probably liked the three been chili(another recipe on this site) just a little bit more, but the A1 chili is still a very good recipe.
I've made this recipe several times. For Christmas last year, I got a crockpot and decided to try it was delicious! I'd made a double recipe because with a single one, there's never enough....this time it was JUST enough. It's also good served over white rice. Another suggestion is to make plain cornbread and serve it over also helps it go just a little bit farther! The next time I'm going to add a little juice from a jalepeno pepper....just enough to give it a kick....i'm using just the juice so nobody gets a piece of the pepper, lol.
My family loves this chili. It is very good when it is made in a crock pot.
I added an extra can of beans and a little water and cooked it in the crock pot for about 6 hours. I served it over Fritos. It was delicious!
