Memories, memories, memories. Our mom made this faithfully for church functions, house gatherings, etc and it was a HIT all the time. She always used chopped walnuts and canned Pineapple chunks....sooo delicious! Now my sister and I make it this her all the time. Thank you for this as I never seen it posted anywhere before!

I add slivered almonds instead and add sliced red or green maraschino cherries. I am not a huge fan, but everyone else is!

This recipe as written is wonderful. However, because my hubby can't eat nuts, I've also made it with instant banana pudding instead of pistachio and substituted sliced bananas (mixing in right before serving) for the pecans. I've also done instant coconut cream pudding and shredded coconut with delicious results.

Having been making this since the 70s. We have always used pecans. Use about half the marshmallows and don't use all the pineapple juice. It's a hit whereever I take it!

This is a favorite at our cookouts. I make this with sugar-free pistachio pudding and sugar-free Cool Whip to make it more diabetic friendly. I also substitute coconut for the pecans. Sometimes for the kids I use the mini marshmallows in different colors. Yum!!!

Awesome. Made this for Easter dinner. Loved it. Thought I would have no leftovers, but I did (thankfully). We just had too much food to choose from.
