I have found that little childern will not eat it if it has coconut in it. So I don't put it in or nuts they pick them out. They do love mandrin oranges in it. Sometimes I put in a sweet apple cut up into little squares. We all eat it very well. My mother-inlaw gave me this recipe many years ago I do make it often.

I have used this recipe for years; it was in my mother 's collection. She also adds one box of raspberry jello and I prefer it with this flavor.

If there is any salad left, I freeze this salad. It is wonderful frozen. Take out of freezer 20 minutes before serving.
