I started making this salad about three{3} years ago, my daughters fell in love with it.Instead of using peanuts, I use chopped pecans. So every holiday my girls are expecting me to prepare a watergate salad.

My familty and friends really like this recipe. I add a banana to my salad. Really adds a little flavor and texture

I make this salad for just about every major holiday. Haven't read all the reviews, but I also add an 8 ounce package of cream cheese. Try it - even more wonderful!

My family has been making this for years never knew the name we just called it "The Pistachio Salad". Someone mention adding colored marshmallows, "BE CAREFUL", I've done that because I only had colored ones. It doesn't taste to good because most colored marshmallows are fruit flavored the flavor doesn't blend well.

This has been a part of our Thanksgiving meal for more than 20 years. My mom used to make it when I was a child too. We love it!

Been a family recipe forever except we don't use the nuts, very easy and always a hit

I've made this since...well watergate and it's not Thanksgiving without it. My grown daughter and I fight over the leftovers every year. Good to see it published again.

We recently made this for our early Thanksgiving get together. We made the salad a little more kid friendly by omitting the nuts and adding a jar of sliced maraschino cherries and two small cans of mandarin oranges (both fruits were drained prior to adding), the salad was great! We will make it this way again when we have a lot of kids or someone that doesn't eat pecans.
