Having been making this since the 70s. We have always used pecans. Use about half the marshmallows and don't use all the pineapple juice. It's a hit whereever I take it!

This is a favorite at our cookouts. I make this with sugar-free pistachio pudding and sugar-free Cool Whip to make it more diabetic friendly. I also substitute coconut for the pecans. Sometimes for the kids I use the mini marshmallows in different colors. Yum!!!

Awesome. Made this for Easter dinner. Loved it. Thought I would have no leftovers, but I did (thankfully). We just had too much food to choose from.

I have made this recipe many times for potluck dinners and everyone loves it. There is never any to take back home, the dish is absolute clean when the event is over.

We love this "green stuff" as my family calls it! Over the years, I have modified it somewhat adding a few more marshmallows and a handful of coconut. Also, if the pineapple has a lot of juice in it I drain some of it out to prevent the salad from being soupy.

Everyone I gave watergate to said it tasted better than anyone they had ever eaten. I told them I went by the recipe off the jello box. They said they tried that but it never tasted as good asw mine. I reread the box recipe and realized where it said add nuts I miss read and thought it said coconut. So all these years been adding coconut.
