Creamy Beef Stroganoff

Classic weeknight recipe in 25 minutes? Don’t mind if we do. Strips of sirloin steak mix with mushrooms, noodles and sour cream to make this creamy comfort food classic.

What You Need

lb. beef sirloin steak, cut into strips

medium onion, cut into thin wedges

Tbsp. oil

can (8 oz.) mushroom pieces and stems, undrained

beef bouillon cubes

cups (8 oz.) medium egg noodles, uncooked

container (8 oz.) BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

Make It

BROWN steak with onion in hot oil in large skillet.

STIR in 1-1/2 cups water, mushrooms and liquid, the bouillon cubes and noodles. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover. Simmer 10 to 12 min. or until noodles are tender.

STIR in sour cream; cook an additional 2 min., stirring occasionally.

Serving Suggestion

Try serving with cooked baby carrots and a quick bagged salad tossed with your favorite KRAFT Dressing, such as CATALINA.

Make it Easy

Cut steak into strips when partially frozen for easier handling.

Special Extra

Add 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce with water. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.

My husband is picky and doesn't like mushrooms but the whole family, including him, loved this dish. Since we have a family of 4 I had to double the recipe.

this was a great recipie. I used fresh mushrooms and boiled them in the water with the bouillon cubes which turned out great.

This was very good, although it did use quite a bit more liquid than what the recipe called for. I used leftover roast & the broth and added a clove of garlic...very tasty!

I cooked the steak in a crockpot first and then used the broth from the steak instead of the water and boullion (steak turned out delicious and tender). Also used fresh mushrooms rather than canned. Will definitely make this again!

This was soo delicious! I didn't have thee amount of sour cream that it called for so I added some cream cheese and it was delicious!!

This recipe was very easy to make, although I omitted the mushrooms. The wife is a very picky eater and she loved it. The kids also told me it was a keeper. I will make it again many times.
