Creamy Beef Stroganoff

Classic weeknight recipe in 25 minutes? Don’t mind if we do. Strips of sirloin steak mix with mushrooms, noodles and sour cream to make this creamy comfort food classic.

What You Need

lb. beef sirloin steak, cut into strips

medium onion, cut into thin wedges

Tbsp. oil

can (8 oz.) mushroom pieces and stems, undrained

beef bouillon cubes

cups (8 oz.) medium egg noodles, uncooked

container (8 oz.) BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

Make It

BROWN steak with onion in hot oil in large skillet.

STIR in 1-1/2 cups water, mushrooms and liquid, the bouillon cubes and noodles. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover. Simmer 10 to 12 min. or until noodles are tender.

STIR in sour cream; cook an additional 2 min., stirring occasionally.

Serving Suggestion

Try serving with cooked baby carrots and a quick bagged salad tossed with your favorite KRAFT Dressing, such as CATALINA.

Make it Easy

Cut steak into strips when partially frozen for easier handling.

Special Extra

Add 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce with water. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.

It did need more water...a lot more. But i fixed it, taste better the next day.

I used hamburger as my meat and it was wonderful, my kids ate second and third helpings!!!

This was great! I added all the "extras" that were suggested, and used light sour cream. I really liked the fact it only required one dish- noodles and all- it was extra fast clean up!! Thanks!

This is a regular in our house. We use low fat sour cream which cuts out some fat (and little bit of the creamy taste). Also, instead of beef strips we use lean hamburger meat. Hard to mess this recipe up and it taste great.
