I did not top mine with the remaining whipped topping. The pudding mixture alone was sweet enough. This would be a great summer time treat. The fresher the berries used the better. I used a mixture of raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries from the grocery. They just didn't have that level of ripeness to make the recipe perfect.

Make sure your pudding is well set before spreading over the cake layer. Otherwise it can turn out very runny. I also do not recommend frozen berries, fresh work much better.

I made this for a labor day picnic. I used frozen berries and it turned out great. I think I might try nilla wafers instead of pound cake next time.

I make this dessert atleast once a year. My husband doesn't even like cool whip and he loves it. Thank you.

I make this dessert every time I bring something to a party. It's excellent! I like a little variety and use a bag of thawed frozen mixed berries. Also, 21 and over can spike it up and add some brandy to the fruit mixture.

This is a great dessert, I used the recipe for Philadelphia Pound Cake with this instead of buying one from the store, it makes all the difference in the world. I've passed this recipe on to others and they love it too.

I've made this dessert for the past two 4th of July holidays! I modified the recipe and used white chocolate pudding instead of the vanilla and it has been a big hit with family, friends, and colleagues!

Wonderful recipe! A variation - You can substitue the berries with just strawberries and bananas.
