My childhood memories of blintz were a basic bland cheese filling in a crepe like roll with fruit sauces served warm over the blintz. Some folkes ate them with sour cream as well. This recipe works, just place a serving of warm fruit compote over it.

I added nutmeg and cinnamon to the cake bater and vanilla to the cream cheese mixture so it wouldnt be so bland. Next time I would add more lemon juice also. It was lightly sweet and would be great at a brunch.

I made this recipe for a breakfast party at work. Everybody loved it and wanted the recipe. I went back for seconds and it was gone.

I had it at someone else's house. It's amazing! I'll be making it soon! It's not real sweet, and would be delicious with fruit for brunch.

Use orange peel and juice instead of lemon. I'm allergic to lemon and always substitute it with orange. I used peaches on bottom like a previous suggestion. Delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!

My boys (hubby and son) thought this was OK......But would have preferred something other then lemon flavor. Anybody have any ideas??? I thought it was great just as is.

everybody really loved it....I did change it just a bit by sprinkling some cinnamon/sugar over the top of the filling and mixing it in just a little before adding the top layer...will definitely make it again; next time I think I will try a crunchier crust, maybe cookie crumbs or ????
