Ultimate Turtle Cheesecake

What You Need

OREO Cookies, finely crushed (about 2 cups)

Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted

pkg. (14 oz.) KRAFT Caramels

1/2

cup milk

cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans

pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

3/4

cup sugar

Tbsp. vanilla

eggs

oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate

Make It

HEAT oven to 325°F.

MIX crumbs and butter; press onto bottom and 2 inches up side of 9-inch springform pan.

MICROWAVE caramels and milk in small microwaveable bowl on HIGH 3 min. or until caramels are completely melted, stirring after each minute. Stir in nuts; pour half into crust. Refrigerate 10 min. Refrigerate remaining caramel mixture for later use.

BEAT cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each just until blended. Pour over caramel layer in crust.

BAKE 1 hour 5 min. to 1 hour 10 min. or until center is almost set. Run knife around rim of pan to loosen cake; cool before removing rim. Refrigerate 4 hours.

MICROWAVE reserved caramel mixture 1 min.; stir. Pour over cheesecake. Melt chocolate as directed on package; drizzle over cheesecake.

How to Pipe Chocolate

Place a square of BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate in freezer-weight resealable plastic bag; seal bag. Microwave on HIGH 30 sec. Squeeze bag to melt chocolate. Fold down top tightly and cut small piece (about 1/8 inch) off one of the bottom corners of bag. Holding top of bag firmly, drizzle chocolate through opening in desired patterns on cheesecake.

Note

Reduce oven temperature to 300°F if using a dark nonstick springform pan.

This cheesecake is AWESOME! Cheesecakes aren't my favorite dessert, either. I've never found boxed crumbs either, but buy Oreo cookies (NOT double-stuffed) & crush them in a gallon ziploc bag w/your rolling pin. I take this every time I go to a get-together 'cause it's way too much to eat for the family. It ALWAYS gets rave reviews.

This recipe was excellent! I couldn't find the boxed Oreo crumbs or chocolate graham cracker crumbs, so I just bought two tin pie plates with the Oreo crumbs in them. (Hint: for two of the tin pie plates, cook at 325 degrees for 40 minutes - perfect!). I took both pies to a Super Bowl party, where everyone swore I must have bought them pre-made! Drizzling the chocolate gives them a professional "finished" look. I'll definitely make this again.

This recipe is fabulous. I made it for coworkers and the entire cheesecake was gone in under 10 minutes and talked about the rest of the day. Definitely a crowd favorite.

I have been making this recipe for the past year for all of our special occasions...Everybody loves it and is rather easy to make. My husband is not a big dessert eater and he will eat the whole thing if he didn't have to fight with the rest of the family. It's a hit!!!

Chocolate, pecans, & caramels....can't get much better than this. It is my most requested cheesecake and I make a lot of different types of cheesecakes.

I love this cheesecake so much!! This is probably the 5th time I've made it and it always comes out so nice!! I've tried a different cheesecake in the past and it didn't call for you to add milk to the caramel for the bottom layer. The cheesecake was so hard you couldn't even cut through it! This was is easy to make and taste great!!!

LOVE THIS CHEESECAKE .... Probably the easiest cake to make and any cracks in the cheesecake can be covered with carmel and chocolate goodness...also to make it even easier .. pick up an already prepared oreo crust from the supermarket ....ENJOY!
