What You Need

onion, chopped

cloves garlic, minced

Tbsp. oil

lb. lean ground beef

3/4

lb. Italian sausage

can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes, undrained

tsp. dried basil leaves, crushed

tsp. dried oregano leaves, crushed

container (15 oz.) POLLY-O Original Ricotta Cheese

1/2

cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese, divided

eggs, beaten

1/3

cup finely chopped fresh parsley

lasagna noodles, cooked

cup KRAFT Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese

Make It

COOK and stir onions and garlic in hot oil in large skillet 5 min. or until crisp-tender. Add ground beef and sausage; cook 10 min. or until done, stirring occasionally. Drain. Stir in tomatoes and herbs; simmer, uncovered, 30 min., stirring occasionally.

HEAT oven to 350°F. Mix ricotta, 1/4 cup Parmesan, eggs and parsley until well blended.

LAYER half each of the noodles, meat sauce and ricotta mixture in 13x9-inch baking dish; repeat layers. Top with mozzarella and remaining Parmesan.

BAKE 30 to 35 min. or until heated through. Let stand 10 min. before cutting to serve.

Serve with whole wheat dinner rolls and a crisp, mixed green salad tossed with your favorite KRAFT Dressing, such as Zesty Italian. A bowl of fresh fruit makes the perfect dessert!

Substitute

Substitute BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Cottage Cheese for the ricotta cheese.

Special Extra

Prepare using 3 garlic cloves.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!! Everyone loved this recipe. I added extra tomato sauce because I thought it was kind of dry. Other than that, it was perfect.

I thought that this was GREAT!!! but my husband was not all to impressed. That is why I only rated it 4 stars. I split the recipe in half and used petite dices tomatoes that I had on hand instead of crushed and garlic powered (3/8 tsp) because I was out of fresh. My 3 year old son loved this recipe too.

This recipe is outstanding! I did make a few changes: I omitted the onion and added 1 tsp. dill weed, used 1 lb. Italian sausage & 1 1/4 lb. lean ground beef, 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes & 14.5 oz. olive oil & garlic marinara sauce, oven-ready lasagna noodles, 2 lb. Ricotta cheese, and 2 c. Mozzarella cheese. Everything else is the same. (I know there's not much left. LOL) I covered the lasagna with aluminum foil (the foil was sprayed with garlic cooking spray to keep it from sticking to the cheese) and removed the foil the last 10 minutes. It looked as good as it tasted! Next time I believe I will add 1 tsp. garlic powder to the meat/tomato sauce to give it a little more flavor.

Good! It was even better the next day. I omitted the sausage and added extra hamburger. It could have used more flavoring.

This was very good. I didn't know about the sausage, but it's a great addition. My whole family loved it too. I will be making again...probably on the weekend though, since it takes a while.

I added more tomatoes and a jar of flavored tomatoe sauce, and it turned out beautifully! It took a while to prepare, but my 5 and 3 year olds did most of the work and had a fabulous time! We plan on making this together again! It was a great way to get them to taste the different ingredients!

I followed this exactly and i thought it was bland and tasteless. I actually cook quite a bit and I was very disappointed in this!!!! Also, it was some work too.

I make this monthly and all my friends love it. Some have even asked for the recipe. I put pepperoni in it also and it is very tasty. Leftovers are always gone fast. It is real lasagna but fast and easy. It still surprises me.
