Black Bottom-Banana Cream Pie

Black Bottom-Banana Cream Pie recipe
Classic diner cream pie meets state fair midway treat, and a star is born. It's like a chocolate-dipped banana, only with a crust instead of a stick.

This was very good. I did not follow the directions on the chocolate and it ended up being too hard but still very good. I will follow the directions next time.

AWESOME - the chocolate added that "extra touch" of flavor. I used semi-sweet chocolate chips and sugar free pudding and it was great!!! My family loved it and this will definately be a pie that I will make often. Had NO problems with it whatsoever, it held up nice and served great too!

I served this delicious dessert to my family recently, there was not a single slice left. The different flavors and textures were fabulous, and quite easy to make.

I replaced the chocolate layer with carmel and it turned out pretty good (tasted like banana pudding). My only problem was with the filling, it was still a little runny after sitting in the fridge all night. The taste was good but I probably won't make this again.

This pie was good but the choco layer was very hard and so made it hard to cut.

Took it to a church pot luck and everyone raved about it. I used a premade pie crust and it could use a little more chocolate.

Although I cheated a little and purchased a Nilla crust already made (my time was running short) it is a very good pie. I also used Banana Cream Pudding since I love Banana's.

This is very easy to make. We liked the chocolate addition to the crust.

the chocolate layer was hard like a candy bar making cutting and serving let alone eating a challenge. not at all what l expected the recipe to be. next time, i'll substitue the semi sweet chocolate layer with a chocolate pudding layer, and the vanilla with butterscotch. would be good in a baked shell with merengue too.
