Black Bottom-Banana Cream Pie

Classic diner dessert meets state fair midway treat, and a star is born. Like a chocolate-dipped banana treat, only with a crust instead of a stick.

What You Need

Tbsp. butter or margarine, divided

NILLA Wafers, finely crushed (about 1-1/4 cups)

Tbsp. sugar

pkg. (4 oz.) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, broken into pieces

large bananas, sliced

pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding

cups cold milk

cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Make It

MELT 4 Tbsp. butter; pour into medium bowl. Stir in wafer crumbs and sugar. Reserve 2 Tbsp. for later use; press remaining crumb mixture onto bottom and up side of 9-inch pie plate.

MICROWAVE chocolate and remaining butter in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 min. or until butter is melted; stir until chocolate is melted and mixture is well blended. Drizzle over bottom of crust; top with bananas.

BEAT pudding mix and milk with whisk 2 min.; pour over bananas. Refrigerate 4 hours. Top with COOL WHIP and reserved crumb mixture just before serving.

I make this all time! It is simple and tastes great! As for the chocolate getting hard: you should let the pie sit out for 15 mins or so before eating.

This pie was too hard to eat. The chocolate gets so hard on the bottom which makes it difficult to slice with your fork. It's a very noisy dessert when your fork finally makes it through to the bottom of the plate!

My husband loves this pie and requests it VERY often! Any time I make it, it's a huge success and I am always asked where I got the reciepe!! YUM!

I have made this pie several times, I still have people asking me to make it again. I tried both the Nilla wafer crust and also made it with an oreo crust. (Both premade) This pie recipe is a keeper.

This recipe is very easy to make. I bought the 'nilla pie crust and then just crushed a few wafers in the pudding. The chocolate will set up hard after a day in the fridge, so it will be hard to cut but still delish and very easy.
