Black Bottom-Banana Cream Pie

Classic diner dessert meets state fair midway treat, and a star is born. Like a chocolate-dipped banana treat, only with a crust instead of a stick.

What You Need

Tbsp. butter or margarine, divided

NILLA Wafers, finely crushed (about 1-1/4 cups)

Tbsp. sugar

pkg. (4 oz.) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, broken into pieces

large bananas, sliced

pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding

cups cold milk

cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Make It

MELT 4 Tbsp. butter; pour into medium bowl. Stir in wafer crumbs and sugar. Reserve 2 Tbsp. for later use; press remaining crumb mixture onto bottom and up side of 9-inch pie plate.

MICROWAVE chocolate and remaining butter in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 min. or until butter is melted; stir until chocolate is melted and mixture is well blended. Drizzle over bottom of crust; top with bananas.

BEAT pudding mix and milk with whisk 2 min.; pour over bananas. Refrigerate 4 hours. Top with COOL WHIP and reserved crumb mixture just before serving.

I would buy a Nilla crust if I made this again. I was a little disappointed in the taste of this dessert. The chocolate layer on the bottom wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. It looks better than it tastes.

Will definately buy a vanilla wafer crust instead of making one next time I am in a hurry.

This was so good, and easy to make. I substituted graham crackers for the crust, and next time I make it will try it with the recommended crust instead. Might be even better!

One of the tastiest dishes ever to come from Kraft! I will definitely make again! Downfall-the presentation wasn't great. I think that my pie pan must be too large, because I did not have enough ingredients to fill it up. Also used 1/2 c milk choc chips and had to scoop the slices out. Be sure to drizzle choc on b/c it sticks to crust and won't spread.

This was great! The only thing I might do is use a sweeter chocolate. But dark chocolate lovers would love this.
