This was my first time making a cheesecake and everyone loved it. They didnt believe me when i said i made it.
Excellent texure and flavor. Smooth, but not too dry.
My mom always used this recipe, and her cheesecakes were famously delicious. I have two of them in the oven right now, one for our Thanksgiving dinner, and one for gift-giving :)
This recipe is awesome! i have tried quite a few cheesecake recipes but this is the best...i am a cook in a fine cuisine restaurant and i plan on using this for the restaurant and thanksgiving :)
I have been using this recipe for over 20 years! I am famous for my cheesecakes, and I used to bake them for a restaurant. Everyone raves on my cheesecakes. It's easy to make, you can add anything to it and it tastes great. This is the only cheesecake recipe I make and I've tried several. I will keep using it for another 20 years!
I went exacly by the recipe and was not impressed. This was a trial run for Thanksgiving...needless to say I will be making something different. The cake was lovely & good texture, however, taste was not great...just kinda ok. The crust was delicious but the cheescake was kinda dry for me. Won't make this recipe again.
I have made cheesecakes a dozen of times, alot of my friends come, & would ask me how come my cheesecakes would come out better then their's? I come from a family of Chef's. So I kinda learn from the ins & the outs. I've made so many cheesecakes that I couldn't count.This one is a #1. The texture is great, is smooth & rich. And very much hold its shapes. I've tried using the box's kinds be4, never like them, cuz being in a rush.To make a enoyable cheesecake, u must take ur time, add a alittle, cuz IF u add too much, u can never take it out, but add a little, u can always add some more, I say. I find also IF u don't have creamcheese, u can also substite, w/ ricotte cheese. It will also add that cheesy ur looking 4, & tasting 4.
Just looking at this recipe takes me back to my childhood. My mom has made this cheesecake for as long as I can remember and it's still the recipe that I associate with the word "cheesecake", including the cherry pie filling! I also think it's easy to make; I was only 16 0r 17 the first time I made it.
Overall the recipe was good, but not quite sweet enough for my taste.
This is a simple yet Great recipe. This should be in everyone's recipe file.
