I love this recipe. The only thing I do different is use 2 cans of refried black beans and 1 can of the whole beans. That way I don't have to mash any beans. This is just fabulous and so easy!

We had this for lunch today and it was great! I added another can of beans, which I pureed like the first two. My husband & I both loved; my 11 year old son enjoyed the flavor, but said the soup was "mushy" and decided he didn't like it. I will definitely make again for hubby and I! Hopefully my son will learn to like it a little more. Love that it's healthy with lots of protein and fiber. Great for a cold day!

Very good! I used extra red pepper and medium salsa to spice it up a bit. I really like the addition of yogurt for serving. Served with beer bread to round out meal-delicious!

I love this recipe! Its super easy and taste like its from a restaurant. I add celery with the onions and garlic and leave more whole beans then called for. Great!

Best black bean soup I've made. Very easy too. I doubled the recipe but did not double the salsa. Turned out great.

I won't be buying cans of black bean soup after making this! Very tasty, and the price per serving can't be beat. I left out the yogurt, might try it with sour cream but it tastes fine on its own.

Delicious! I left out the red pepper flakes but used medium heat salsa. My family loved it and it's very filling.

This was pretty good but like most other reviewers I modified the recipe.I believe there is a lot of room to modify this soup and still end up with a great tasting soup. I paired this with a cornbread recipe I found on this site. Such a nice combo for a cold or raining day.
