pkg. (12 oz.) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks

cup PLANTERS Pecan Pieces

cups sugar, divided

1-1/2

tsp. ground cinnamon

2-2/3

cups flour

1-1/2

tsp. baking soda

tsp. CALUMET Baking Powder

1/2

tsp. salt

3/4

cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened

eggs

tsp. vanilla

1-1/2

cups BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Mix chocolate, pecans, 2/3 cup of the sugar and the cinnamon; set aside. Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; set aside.

BEAT butter and remaining 1-1/3 cups sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in vanilla. Add flour mixture alternately with the sour cream, beating after each addition until well blended. Spoon half of the batter into greased 13x9-inch baking pan; top with half of the chocolate mixture. Repeat layers.

BAKE 40 to 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into 32 squares to serve.

I made this cake to celebrate a birthday at 9 a.m. at the office and everyone really enjoyed it. Thanks for offering wonderful recipes for busy ladies like me.

I am teaching my 8 year old grandaugher how to bake. Today, she picked this recipe to make. It was so delicious! Moist and light. She took most of the cake home and after trying it, my son said it will be gone fast. And, he does not like coffee cake. This cake will definitely be made in this family again.

It was hard to measure out half of the chocolate mixture, I might do it in separate bowls next time, but it was delicious and got rave reviews from my husband and my girlfriends at brunch.

This turned out excellent. Everyone had a fit. I did half of the cake with nuts for those who don't like them, and half of the cake with nuts.

i made this for breakfast for my daughters sleep over and only got one piece of it. It was gone!! After eating it all they still wanted more. This is a great recipe.
