This cake turned out very moist and delicious! I also found that it freezes very well (perfect to cut into smaller portions, wrap individually, and freeze for a later date)

What You Need

eggs

pkg. (2-layer size) chocolate cake mix

container (8 oz.) BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

pkg. (3.9 oz.) JELL-O Chocolate Instant Pudding

1/2

cup oil

1/2

cup water

1/2

cup MAXWELL HOUSE INTERNATIONAL CAFÉ, any café flavor

pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, chopped

Tbsp. powdered sugar

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

BEAT all ingredients except coffee granules, chopped chocolate and powdered sugar in large bowl with mixer until well blended. Stir in coffee granules and chopped chocolate.

POUR into 12-cup fluted tube pan or 10-inch tube pan sprayed with cooking spray.

BAKE 50 min. to 1 hour or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool cake in pan 10 min. Loosen cake from side of pan with knife. Invert cake onto wire rack; gently remove pan. Cool cake completely. Transfer to plate just before serving; sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Substitute

Substitute 2 Tbsp. MAXWELL HOUSE Instant Coffee for the 1/2 cup MAXWELL HOUSE INTERNATIONAL CAFÉ.

Variation

Omit coffee granules. Substitute 1-1/2 cups miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips for the chopped semi-sweet chocolate.

This cake is great served hot with fat free vanilla yogurt.

Made it for Thanksgiving which was also a friend's B-day. Out of sight! It was so moist and flavorful. It was done that evening. I only used 2 tbls of the coffee, and I served it warm so that the morsels were a little melted. It goes fabulous with Caramel Ice cream. Definitely a keeper!

the cake was really easy and delicious,but the recipe was not really clear when it came to the amt. of coffee. was it 1/2 dry or should it be mixed ,*as if you were going to drink it. that part was confusing?

AMAZING! I have made this cake numerous times, using hazlenut flavor coffee, and it always gets RAVE reviews. Far and away the best chocolate cake ever. One of my new signature recipes.

This cake was a huge hit with the family over the holidays. I used the orange cappuccino international foods coffee in the mix and it turned out really yummy! Serve it with some hot orange cappuccino international foods coffee and it's a great dessert!

My family loved this cake. My Son HATES coffee so I made this when he was in school and never told him. He ate most of this cake and asked me to make another soon!!

It was a very nice cake. I don't really care for chocolate cake but this was very nice and it was the most beautiful cake I ever made. I drissled chocolate over the top, next time I may try a filling of some kind.

This cake turned out fabulous and it tasted great, i served it warm with lowfat vanilla ice cream. I think every woman at my party asked where i got this recipe. Of course i told them Kraftfoods! Thank you for another great recipe.
