What You Need

pkg. (15.5 oz.) OREO Cookies, divided

1/3

cup butter or margarine, melted

pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

3/4

cup sugar

cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

tsp. vanilla

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

CRUSH 28 cookies finely; coarsely chop remaining cookies. Mix crushed cookies with butter; press onto bottom and 2 inches up side of 9-inch springform pan.

BEAT cream cheese and sugar in large bowl with mixer until blended. Add sour cream and vanilla; mix well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each just until blended. Stir in chopped cookies. Pour into crust.

BAKE 55 min. to 1 hour or until center is almost set. Run knife around rim of pan to loosen cake; cool before removing rim. Refrigerate 4 hours.

How to Prevent Overbrowning

To prevent top of cheesecake from becoming too brown, tent with foil for the last 15 to 20 min. of the baking time, if necessary.

I made this cake for my husband's birthday. He was extremely sorry he only got to have one peice. It's very creamy and just plain GOOD. One of the best I've made.

I get several requests to make this cheesecake for all gatherings I attend. I use mini oreos instead of chopping the big ones. This is my favorite dessert!

This was great!! I used the reduced fat Oreos and they worked wonderfully. I would highly suggest this cheesecake.

I will be making this for the third time for my daughter's birthday, as she has requested. Her Birthday is still almost 2 weeks away. She said she is SO looking forward to it. I have made this for my son's birthday also. Since it is so rich, we have it for special occasions. And if it's not rich enough, I guild the lily by putting a chocolate ganache on top of the cooled cake. This way I have a smooth surface to 'write' HAPPY BIRTHDAY on. Everyone who has a slice of this cheesecake raves!!!

This cheesecake was so rich and delicious! The people I served it to commented it tasted like it was from a fine restaurant. I made it as a Valentine dessert for my husband & he just loved it!

I make ther oreo cheesecake for an office party and everybody liked it. One lady told me that she thought she had died n gone to heaven. :)
