Chicken Breasts in Sour Cream Sauce recipe

Here's one of the creamier, more garlicky ways to enjoy skillet-cooked chicken breasts—with sour cream, broth and chopped tomatoes for a bit of color.

What You Need

bone-in chicken breast halves (2 lb.)

1/4

cup flour

1/2

tsp. salt

1/4

tsp. pepper

Tbsp. butter or margarine

ripe tomato, seeded, chopped

Tbsp. tomato sauce

cloves garlic, minced

1/2

cup chicken stock or broth

1/2

cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

Make It

RINSE chicken; pat dry with paper towel. Set aside. Mix flour, salt and pepper in shallow dish. Add chicken; toss lightly to evenly coat both sides with flour mixture. Shake off excess flour mixture.

MELT butter in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Add chicken; cook 30 min. or until cooked through, turning occasionally. Transfer chicken to serving platter; cover with foil to keep warm.

ADD tomatoes, tomato sauce and garlic to skillet; cook on medium high heat 3 min. or until heated through, stirring frequently. Add chicken stock; bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 3 min. Add sour cream; stir with wire whisk until well blended. Cook until heated through, stirring frequently. (Do not allow sauce to boil or it will separate.) Remove from heat. Pour over chicken. Garnish with minced fresh parsley, if desired.

Serving Suggestion

Cover serving platter with 2 cups of your favorite hot cooked pasta; top with the cooked chicken, then drizzle with sauce. Serve with a 10-oz. bag of torn salad greens tossed with 1/2 cup of your favorite KRAFT Light Dressing.

Was little worried the chicken would be a little blan but have to say this turned out to be very delicious. I am super impressed with the flavor and ease of this recipe. I too used tamatoe sauce with basil, oregano and garlic. I also added a little extra drainned canned tomatoe's in basil, oregano and garlic flavor. Next time I will double up on the sauce because it was so good. Im also going make it again using lobster and putting it over pasta.

I wasn't too sure how this would turn out becaus the sour cream threw me off but it was fantastic! I used fat free sour cream and the only tomato sauce I had was basil, oregano and garlic. My boyfriend thought it was delicious and was super impressed. He also said it tasted like something from a restaurant!

it is soooooooooooooo delicious! My husband couldn't believe it was made by me!!!!!!!!!! He thought it was take-out food!!!!!!!!!! Also my kids love it with shell pasta!!!!!
