pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Pistachio Flavor Instant Pudding

can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple in juice, undrained

cup PLANTERS Walnut Pieces

3-1/4

cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows, divided

tubs (8 oz. each) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed

maraschino cherries with stems

Make It

STIR dry pudding mix, pineapple with juice, walnuts and 1 cup of the marshmallows in large bowl until well blended. Gently stir in 1 tub of the whipped topping.

EMPTY remaining tub of whipped topping into separate medium bowl. Add 2 cups of the marshmallows; mix lightly.

SPOON half of the pudding mixture into large serving bowl; cover with layer of half of the marshmallow mixture. Repeat both layers. Top with remaining 1-1/4 cups marshmallows and the cherries. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving. Store leftover dessert in refrigerator.

Variation

I have made variations of this recipe and I prefer to use chopped pecans instead of walnuts. Also this recipe is good using almost any puddings. I also make a variation using Kraft marshmallow puff creme, eliminating the pineapple. It is delicious and my grand childrens favorite. Using chocolate instant pudding with the marshmallow creme and all other ingredients except the pineapple add also pecans and mini semi chocolate chips.. I also served this at many pot lucks and it was always a #1 hit. It never lasted.

I substitute Jello fat free-sugar free pistachio pudding, use Cool Whip Free, and pineapple in its own juice to cut down on sugar and fat. I skip the marshmallows and cherries. It makes an incredibly tasty and low calorie dessert!

I made some variations like my Aunt Agnes when she served this at Thanksgiving in the 1970's. I lost her recipe and this is the closest I could find. She used the pistachio pudding mix,1 small tub cool whip, 1 small tub cottage cheese,1 small can drained crushed pineapple, 1 small can drained orange segments, 2 cups miniature marshmallows, topped with chopped candied cherries. Thank you KRAFT for the reminder!! Another GRATEFUL reader.

My mother made this recipe when I was small (30 years ago) -- it's stayed in our family for years and we all love it just as much as we did the first time we had it.

I fixed this for Thanksgiving one year when my granddaughter was about 6. She said it looked like it glowed in the dark. So now anytime we have a family get together we have glow in the dark jello. We love it.

i made this recipe many years ago as a parfet but the best way I like it is to mix all ingredients except walnuts and use as a filling between the layer'sof a cake and on the top i add the walnuts soooo good
