Can do the same thing with chicken as well, which is a great alternative to a guest with shellfish allergies. I made both and the reviews were - yum!

You can use this with Chicken pieces too! Definitely add a couple of shakes of Lawry's seasoned salt to the batter. :)

To help retain batter during deep frying, chill pre-battered shrimp from 30-minutes to 1-hour in refrigerator.
