Watergate Cake

This classic tube cake made with yellow cake mix, instant pistachio pudding mix, club soda and walnuts is dusted with powdered sugar before serving.

pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix

pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Pistachio Flavor Instant Pudding

cup club soda

1/2

cup oil

eggs

1/2

cup chopped PLANTERS Walnuts

Tbsp. powdered sugar

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Place cake mix, dry pudding mix, soda, oil and eggs in large bowl. Beat with electric mixer on low speed just until moistened. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping side of bowl occasionally. Gently stir in walnuts.

POUR batter into greased and floured fluted tube pan or 10-inch tube pan.

BAKE 40 to 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove cake from pan; cool completely on wire rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar just before serving.

Easy to make; I bring a lot of my baked goods to my office and everyone raved about how great it tasted. I normally bring chocolate, so this is high praise for a non-chocolate dessert.

used to make this cake as a child in a 9x13 cake pan. I used to frost it with a mixture of dry pistachio pudding and a small tub of cool whip.

this recipe is very versatile...you can make it with any appealing combination of pudding and cake mix. One of my favorites is chocolate pudding, chocolate cake mix and of course the nuts. Very moist!!
