What You Need

NILLA Wafers, finely crushed (about 2-1/2 cups crumbs)

cup powdered sugar

cup finely chopped PLANTERS Pecans

1/2

cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted

Tbsp. light corn syrup

Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder

tsp. MAXWELL HOUSE Instant Coffee

1/4

cup rum

cup BAKER'S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut, toasted

Make It

MIX wafer crumbs, sugar, pecans, butter, corn syrup and cocoa.

DISSOLVE instant coffee granules in rum. Add to crumb mixture; mix well. Let stand 15 min.

SHAPE mixture into 1-inch balls; roll in coconut. Place in airtight container with sheet of wax paper between each layer of balls. Store at room temperature.

We ended up thorwing these away. No one liked them. They would have probebly been good if the rum had been left out. Or at least decreased by at least half! Way , way, too strong!!!!

These were a big hit with my family last year. I went a little heavier with the rum than the recipe called for, and that seemed to work well.

I made this recipe for my daughters baptism celebration. I did not use the almonds, and rolled the rum balls in coconut's and colorful jimmies. The only thing I did differently was to place the rum balls in the fridge after I was done. They were a big hit and I have already been asked to make more!

Excellant recipe! You can double the rum proportion, just use the full box of Nilla wafers and about a 1/2 cup more of powdered sugar and you can also add more coffee to the doubled rum. Roll the balls in powdered sugar and it will turn into a glaze overnight. These were a huge hit!!

My mother use to make these when I was growing up. I loved them but never asked for the recipe now I have it for myself and will make them all the time. for special occaisions.

I made these for the Christmas Holiday. They were a big hit! I coated some in cocoa, and some in spinkles, they looked great.
