The cake turned out great! Everyone loved it. I plan to make it for an end of the summer party I am hosting. I couldn't believe how simple it was to make.

I made this cake for my Grandaughter's 7th Birthday pool party. I used 2 cake mixes in a 9 x 13 pan to get a nice high cake and had to cook it a little longer to make sure it was cooked through. But this gave me a nice cut out hole for the jello pool. Decorating it was fun and easy. The cake was a great hit. Everyone remarked about how cute it was - even several of the men. Then I also made some ice cream cone cupcakes for the kids. I would definitely make this again. It was time consuming only because you had to let it chill at different stages. But certainly easy to make.

I made this for my girlfriend and her family. They just had a new pool put in and boy did this make a great splash. The kids and adults loved it. I used the hints about the Jello almost being set and it worked out great!!!Thanks!!!!

The Jell-O took a little longer to set up than suggested. I had to wait about 1/2 hour longer. Possibly you could substitute the Jiggler recipe and use a 7 minute fluffy frosting. That way you wouldn't have to worry about keeping it refrigerated until the last minute. I made it the way it suggested and it was a great hit.

This cake was a huge hit, even with the adults, it was so cute! Very easy, just took a little time, but lots of fun. Took it to a cousins pool party and no one wanted to cut it, it was so cute! Definately will do again.

I went to make this cake for my birthday and it was a disaster, I used the extra moist devils food cake and when I poured the jello in the cake to set, it drained out all over the kitchen. I was able to save some and make a lake themed one...This cake was a chalenge and I will try again some day.

I made this recipe but substituted the pool theme with a pirate theme and had treasure around the cake with pirates on land and a pirate ship on the water. It was hit as I also made a treasure chest cake full of goodies to go with it! My grandsons party had a pirate theme and all the children dressed up as pirates. Great fun!
