It was really fun to make. I like that you can decorate it to make it original. Instead of the oreo bottom, i put vinilla wafers there. I alsobought some gummy sharks and aligators and i put them in the pool. The only scary part of makeing it is that i thought the jello was not going to turn out right, But it did. I think it was a great acivity, and a fun way to spendyour day!!!!!

What a wonderful recipe...I made this recipe w/my 13-year old babysitter for a cake decorating contest and we took 1st place!!!! We decided to make our border with gummy lifesavers rather than oreo cookies and we made beach towels for some of our teddies w/fruit roll ups. We added a few gum balls as beach balls in and around the pool area and I made miniature lawn chairs out of stick-em paper and toothpicks. The most difficult part of this recipe was the jello but w/a few of the tips on this site (freeze cake while cooking jello and trying the fast jello version w/ice cubes) we were able to pull it off. I would recommend this recipe to anyone who wants a great response for any party or event. Enjoy!!!!

Very cute, I got lots of praise on this cake and it was so easy to make. It tasted good on the edges, but jello and cake in one piece -- not so great. Everyone wanted to eat the edges; we tossed the middle

The cake was a big hit at work for our summer theme food day! I think you need to leave quite a bit of border. The jello tends to push the sides out if you get it too thin. Other than that it is a cute idea.
