This cake was a hit for my daughter's 6th birthday party. Instead of the teddy grahams, we used her Polly Pockets in the pool. It was easy to make. I would definitely make this again.

The dive-on-in-cake was a splash! Instead of family game night we decided to make a cake! A good idea that Paul didn't mention is to use real water instead of jello. By utilizing the H2O it creates a realistic wave pool similar to the one at Slitterbon! Its absolutly amazing! It will knock your socks off! Just be sure to gunnite with the chocolate shell syrup so the water stays in the pool! While making our cake we had a tragic accident, a teddy grahm jumped off the diving board and drown with an unsuccesful rescue by our life gaurd! This cake was fun to make but not so much to eat! The taste reminded me of my gym socks!

I made this cake for my daughter's 'beach party' at school (toddlers) and they loved it! It was ssoo easy to make! All of the adults were super impressed, too! Just one hint - you have to give time for the cake to cool (about 20 minutes) and time for the jello to 'jel' (about 30 minutes)...I prepared and baked it and added the jello in the evening and refrigerated it overnight. (covered with saran wrap) I decorated it the next morning. I used fruit roll ups as beach towels for the teddy grahams (scoring the middle of them with a knife for the teddy bears to sit in) and I did not use the oreos - I didn't think it was necessary. I highly recommend this for any skill level of baking!!!

This cake is so kool. I got complements all day at work and and still continue to do so. I have never received so many complements on a cake in my life. It was so much fun to make. You will love it.

The only thing I would change would be the amount of Jello I made. One package would be enough to fill the center of the cake. You also really need to slop on the coolwhip frosting. Although it is obvious that you need to refrigerate this cake, the recipe did not state that fact. The coolwhip begins to, well, melt if you don't. The most fun was putting the bears in the gummy lifesavers! I did not go hunt for the umbrellas, I used dum-dum suckers as 'trees'.

I made this for my 11 yr old daughter's daycare (end of year thank you), so I didn't get to taste it but it was easy and fun to make and my daughter was able to help decorate it . I would make it again --maybe for my Girl Scout troop.
