Intructions were easy to follow and preperation was quick. The sauce came out a little spicy. I used tomatoe sauce instead of barbecue sauce. But the sauce was great! I bought medium size cooked shrimp with the tail on and they still shrunk to a minuscule size.

I have been making this recipe for over a year now and it is my husbands favorite! I use andouille sausage instead of the italian, I use diced tomatoes with green chilies or zesty jalepenos, I use yellow or orange peppers and I use a different kind og BBQ sauce. Jumbo shrimp are excellant as well and a couple of dashes of hot sauce!! Yummy!

Very good but next time I think I'll leave out the BBQ sauce.

This recipe is soooo good. I agree it can end up tasting too sweet and cheap, like it came off of the school lunch menu. The trick is to add hot sauce! It seriously improves the dish by a thousand percent. I like to add Emeril's Kick it up a Notch hot sauce, but any kind of hot sauce would probably work. And if you think it's too watery, let it boil just a little longer before you remove it from the heat.

I halved the bbq sauce and added salsa. It was excellent!
