It made a nice meal for us. I didn't have original BBQ sauce and used a more flavored one which turned out good.

BORING! There are FAR better uses for pork than this bland dish.

I did make this recipe, but with alterations. I had some prepared pulled pork barbecue, so I used it. I had a partial can of crushed pineapple in the refrigerator so I used it instead of chunks. I had only brown rice, so I used that. I had red pepper strips frozen, so I subatituted those for the green chopped. However, it was very good, and got better over the next couple of days.

Used brown rice instead of white, and used chicken instead of pork. It was verrry good and isn't bland at all if you add just a half teaspoon on salt.

I tweeked the recipe just a tad because previous ratings commented that this was a little bland. I marinated the pork before cooking and added celery. It turned out really good. The only thing I would change would be do make the rice separately and pour the pork mixture over the top, versus mixing the rice in with the pork.

Added Essence of Jamaica only because I was concerned from reading previous reviews. It added a little bit of a kick that probably wasn't there before.

Quick and easy to make! Very good with a pleasing unique taste. I will be making this dish again.

I thought the rice was a little bland. Next time I will add salt or soy sauce into the mix. I also plan on marinating the pork or chicken before cooking because I think that the pork has enough time to really absorb the sweet/tangy flavors. It was easy to make though.

My husband and kids do not like peppers, so I cut the stips big so it would flavor the dish, but they could easily avoid them. Everyone loved it and it was so easy to make!
