Beautiful Butterfly Cake recipe
I made this and a famly member took a chunck out of the top of one of the wings so it had rounded wings on top and at the bottom. I thought it looked better that way.

Iliked this rcipe for Palm Sunday. My daughter liked helping and the cake was easy to assemble. My church loved it too. the only thing I did differently was the jam. No jam in my version. I used chocolate cake and white frosting . It was just as prety.

What a wonderful idea. I am going to make this cake tonight to bring to my mom's for Palm Sunday (as it is also the first day of spring). The Butterfly and all it's colors will be a wonderful reminder of the beautiful season that is just around the corner. I read though all the ratings on this cake and I love the substitutions for the Oreo cookies ie., lady fingers or Twinkies. (I plan on using lady fingers too. Hint: Anyone contemplating making any of the posted recipes should read through the comments. We have a lot of very creative people in this club who have great subtitute ideas. It's always worth reading through the comments!

This recipe is a great treat for kids to help hands on and they love to eat their masterpiece when it's complete! Kraft Whipped Marshmellow makes a good fat free variation for frosting and it helps the variety of decor toppings stay on the cake. My kids loved it for a Spring Break activity = )
