I make this recipe every year at Thanksgiving and other special holidays. It is always a hit in my home and it is requested often. I do a couple of things differently though. I add milk, eggs, sugar, and lemon juice to the recipe and I don't put the marshmallows on until after it is thoroughly cooked- about 30 minutes. Then I put on the marshmallows except I love the big puffed ones and I let it brown. Yum!

I will absolutely NEVER make candied yams the old way again. For years, sloppy yam juice infiltrating everything on the plate, leaking all over the fridge, you know how that goes. This recipe was absolutely genius. It tasted better than the normal can of yams with marshmallows thrown on top. We actually like yams now!

I made this easy recipe during Thanksgiving and it was such a hit there wasn't enough to around. Made a double batch for Christmas and still came home empty handed. 5 star rating!

I have made a similar recipe for years. I add 1/4 to 1/2 cup brown sugar, and use a 1/2 teaspoon mace and a 1/2 teaspoon cardomom instead of ginger and cinnamon. The family asks for it year round.

Very Yummy! Tasted just like a pumpkin pie. I used the 2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice and added some crushed pecans. This is a great desert.

When using fresh (i.e. not canned) yams, it's a little more work, but just as tasty. Enjoy!

I love sweet potatoes but this was just ok. Maybe I need to make it a couple of more times to perfect it.

It was just OK for me. I made it for the first time for T'Giving. I think it was the ginger that I disliked. Some people ate it and like it. If I were to ever make it again I would omit the ginger, but I think I will just stick to my sweet potatoe casserole.
