I have made this pie twice. Everyone loves it! For the Holidays I make 7 different pies. This pie went 1st. Everyone now has a new favorite! The only thing that I did differently was using pecan sprinkles (because I don't have a food processor). It worked out just fine. Everyone wants the recipe! I like the idea someone else had of making them in a square pan & cutting into bars. Good suggestion! Will continue to make again & again.

I will try this recipe again, after making some changes. The pecans contain a lot of oil, so adding butter to the crust mix makes it too oily. It did not set or bake well. Also, I don't care for semi-sweet chocolate, and will try milk chocolate, and reduce the amount by 50%.

This recipe was very easy and rich. Everyone enjoyed it on Christmas day. I would like to try it without the chocolate next time to get the full flavor of the pecans and caramel.

This pie was excellent and so easy to prepare... but very rich...so smaller slices are recommended! It was a big hit at our Christmas dinner! I will definitely make it again!

A very rich and filling dessert. The pecan crust is a true delight and a great substitute for graham cracker crust. Next time I will experiment and mix semi sweet chocolate bits into the carmel and top the pie with whipped cream. Was really a hit with my Christmas dinner of prime rib and crown roast of pork.

I'm so mad! I followed this recipe to a T!!! My crust turned into a big pile of pecan moosh, even after baking it for nearly 20 minutes!!! I couldn't even continue.

Loved this, but it's RICH. Serve small slices with vanilla ice cream on the side. The filling is enough for two reg. 9 inch pie plates, so make enough pecan crust for 2 pies. The pecan crust is what rocks this pie! I actually hate traditional pecan pies, but this is a keeper and very easy. This is more like a chocolate/caramel pie with some pecans thrown in.

The ingrediants speak for them-selves. I have had something close to this, but it was a long time ago. I'm sure that the directions are pretty easy to follow. In all my experiences, I have found that if your doing something for the first time, it's better to do as directed, until you feel comfortable enough to make changes or additions.
