This is one of my new all time favorites! I used red apples instead of green. (Not a fan of green apples).

The trick is shaved apple. Velveeta is great for this. *Beforehand microwave apple 30-60 sec. W/O apple and/or less apple. Add a *LIGHTLY scrambled fried egg to sandwich, w/ 1 slice of cheese-Optional. This is really good! Can also use plain scrambled egg or a fried egg any style, add to sandwich. When served: use a bowl-retains more heat than plate, w/fork or spoon. LESS of a chance to wear as daily accessory, also makes it easier for AM multitasking to carry around the house, gives moms the energy they need to get the kids off too and start the day.

I ended up taking the apples off, was a weird combo for me but definately was worth a try :)

My kids really did not like this combination. They took the apples off the sandwich.

This was a surprisingly very light, tasty snack. You don't taste the cheese that much - it's mainly there to keep the apples in place and get them nice and soft.

While I initially thought this combination was weird (and my fiance still refuses to try it) it is DELICIOUS! Will definitely make again!

I made this recipe and absolutely love it!! I am pregnant and it satisfies any craving I may be having. Salty, sweet, tangy, warm, crispy goodness! I eat two for breakfast and sometimes one for a late night snack.

I found this recipe in the the recent Food & Family book. I just made this sandwich tonight and I loved it! I don't like to eat anything heavy especially later in the night and I decided to make this sandwich. It was easy and healthy! For "chips" i cut up the rest of the apple into thin slices and toss'd them in a bowl with some cinnamon.. put them in a skillet and mixed it around for about 10 minutes to make them just a lil soft and warm. It was a great quick meal.. will make it again!
