The kids loved it
This is fabulous, I didn't change a thing. It is perfect as it is and the sharp cheddar really makes it! I served it with salmon patties and spinach. My hubby is not usally a big mac & cheese fan but he sure took 2nds and even 3rds of this one! The kids loved it too! This sure beats the boxed kind!!
Wonderful, Delicious, I was speechless when I made this. I added carrots and zuchini to it. WOnderful with the Low Carb pasta on the market. My dad can have cheese but not the regular pasta, so I used the Low Carb, and it is absolutely wonderful. Somewhat healthy and added vegetables make it extra healthy. Will make again and again. Like mom used to make.
This is very similar to a recipe my husband grew up with, which we love! A few variations: we sometimes use american cheese (same amount); double recipe and freeze half; also my MIL told us if you want it a little cheesier, don't add more cheese, use 1/2 cup less milk.

This was my first time making homemade macaroni and cheese, and it came out excellant! I would make it again real soon.

Absolutely delicious! I recommend this recipe for those who know what real baked mac & cheese is supposed to taste like!
I've been making this recipe for more than 30 years. It came from a Kraft promo cheese cookbook. I often add a dash of dry mustard as well as a dash each of ground red and ground white pepper. Sometimes I saute' a little onion with the butter when I make the white sauce. It's fine as is, but I like to jazz it up. Top with bread crumbs if desired. Good meatless entree.
Good Mac and Cheese. I followed the recipe but substituted Colby cheese. My husbands wants onion and jack cheese next time.
