I made this with 1/2 teaspoon of dried Italian seasoning instead of cinnamon and nutmeg. My family really enjoyed this meal. It reminded me of the Greek dish, Moussaka, without the eggplant. Surprisingly good!

Sorry folks. This recipe has hardly any flavor. I would make the Cheesy Volcano Meatballs 10 times before I would make this again. Save your Mac & Cheese and ground beef to boot. Go for the volcano!

I couldn't understand why this recipe called for cinnamon and nutmeg, but after tasting it, I now realize why. OMG, it is delicious. I made a huge batch and froze 1/2. I must say it was even better re-heated from the freezer. I love this and will make it again and again and again.

The kids simply loved this! Hubby and I did, too. What's more, it is soooo easy to make.

I think if I were to make it again, I'd use oregano and basil in place of the cinnamon.

My whole family loved this. I didn't change a thing in the recipe. It's a quick and easy version of Greek Pastistio, the traditional version of which takes hours to prepare. Puffed up and browned very prettily.
