What You Need

pkg. (1-layer size) yellow cake mix

pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

3/4

cup granulated sugar

tsp. vanilla, divided

3/4

cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

eggs

oz. BAKER'S Unsweetened Chocolate

Tbsp. milk

Tbsp. butter or margarine

cup powdered sugar

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 325°F if using a silver springform pan (or to 300ºF if using a dark nonstick springform pan). Grease bottom of pan; set aside. Prepare cake batter as directed on package; pour into prepared pan. Bake 25 to 30 min. (or 20 to 25 min. if using dark pan) or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool.

BEAT cream cheese, granulated sugar and 1 tsp. of the vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add sour cream; mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition just until blended. Pour over cake layer in pan.

BAKE 40 to 45 min. or until center is almost set. Run knife or metal spatula around rim of pan to loosen cake; cool before removing rim of pan.

PLACE chocolate, milk and butter in medium microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted, stirring after 1 min. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add powdered sugar and remaining 1 tsp. vanilla; mix well. Spread over cooled cheesecake. Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight. Store leftover cheesecake in refrigerator.

Oh my!! This was one of the best cheesecakes I have ever made. I made it for my brothers birthday and already he has asked me to make it for a 4th of July party. It wasn't real sweet like most of the cheesecakes I've made. It was AWESOME! (and everyone seemed to agree) Definately try this one out!

I tested the recipe in advance for Thanksgiving. It is SO good! The family, the neighbors, this is one that you should make two at a time; one for everyone else and one for you to hide for yourself! I am thinking of variations I can try with this....

This cheesecake looks so amazing but it is so easy to make! It tastes absolutely unbelievable. I have never tasted anything so good. It looks great, it tastes even better, and it is easy to make. Make it and it will surely impress everyone.

This tastes just like a boston cream pie but more sinful. I took it to work and I came home with an empty plate. I made one mistake but no one could tell. I made the cake mix and poured in the springform and didnt slice it down to a one cake layer. I just left it and it was fine.

All I can say is' LOVE IT!!!' thats it in a nutshell basicly easy to do and better to love!!!!!

Good. Easy to make. I had to bake the cheesecake layer for about an hour. However, I was not as impressed with this recipe as many of the other reviewers were. It is good but basically an ordinary cheesecake.

I just love cheescake and i really love this one. It is easy to make and so very delicious. I will have to make this at my next family getogether.
