I put the cinnamon and nutmeg in the pudding as it cooled. It marries much better that way. My daughter-in-law just loved this. I make both with and without raisins; depends on who's eating it:)

I absolutely love rice pudding...when making this, cook the rice ahead of time. I'm sitting here waiting for the rice to soften before going to a family gathering that I was taking this to. But with the rice being uncooked, and I had no instant rice on hand, the rice is still hard. I'll try this again when I have more time.

LOVE IT! I was so bummed though when I made it... No raisins in the house. I don't personally like nutmeg, so I left that part out. Years ago, when my father-in-law was terminally ill, he had a taste for rice pudding. I made this recipe for him and it completely brightened his day! This is a great recipe and worth the minimal effort it requires!

Not good the next day. The rice became hard when the pudding cooled.

I made with 2 cups 2% and 2 cups ff half and half. It was very good. Will made it many times.
