Bunny Cake

THIS IS A CLASSIC REPE I USED TO LOVE MAKING WITH MY MOM AS A KID AND I'M GONNA MAKE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER 20 YEARS FOR EASTER.

I first made this cake in 1972. I was newly married and made it for my husband's family which included 3 small children. I still have the recipe which is worn on the edges, but has many wonderful miles on it. I then started making it for my children. I now have two little granddaughters who will be seeing this cake on Easter Sunday. I can't wait. Thank you for jarring my memory...I'm sure my two sons will smile when they see this cake again.

My Mom used to make this cake every Easter and now we've made it a tradition with all the kids in our family. We make several mini round cakes so each kid can decorate their own bunny cake. Always a hit!

I made this recipe for my daughter when she was little and she has always wanted to make one again. Now I have a granddaughter who can now make it with her mom!

This brings back memories,My aunt made his every Easter,when I was young..I forgot about it till I seen it the other day,I will be making it this Easter.

I have made this every year for the last 30 yrs at Easter from the original recipe that I cut from the newspaper. I make it the original way, with white frosting and pink tinted coconut for the middle of the ears. It is always decorated with jelly beans. This has become a family tradition and it would not be Easter without the Bunny cake

I began making this exact Bunny Cake when I had my first child and she will be 42 in May. I have made the cake every year with my two girls help and then with my grandson,until he thought he was too old (: and now with my grand daughter and now we have added a matching cross cake to go along side of the bunny.

Wow, this is still around? I've been making this since my niece and nephew were little, about 35 years. I use M&Ms for the tie & eyes, frosting for the other features. You can color the coconut pink for the ears by putting a couple drops of food coloring in a container with the coconut and shaking it. Sometimes I make side sheet cake for the "Easter eggs" with green colored coconut for grass, spreading speckled malt candy eggs around for the "hunting ground." Or use the peanut M&Ms. Kids love it, as do the adults. Use other molds and you can make hills, and add marshmallow chicks & bunnies.
