The muffins were moist and brany. We added 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1/2 tspn. nutmeg, 1/4 tspn. allspice. We also substituted the flour for some whole wheat flour to make it more bran and wheat flavor. We used chunky applesauce to get some apple chunks. Next time, will add more apples and maybe the raisins in the raisin bran. This is a versatile recipe, because you can add any fruit to it. We may add pineapple chunks, macadamian nuts, and pineapple juice for a tropical bran muffin!
