I, too, omit the food coloring, but I also add about 2 tablespoons of softened butter to the cream cheese. We also like to seriously marble the brownie and cheese mixture, and sometimes we frost the brownies with chocolate frosting. Delicious!

I made this desert for a Christmas party. Instead of making the cream cheese orange, I made it red and it was very festive. The only problem I had with it my first time was that I didn't spread the cheese evenly over the brownie mix causing it to be thicker in some areas. It tasted delicious though. As far as storage, I wasn't sure if it was to be refrigerated or not.
