I make this recipe every 2 to 3 weeks. My husband is a very picky eater, but loves this, plus it is a quick, easy meal for those nights I get home a little late & have other things to get done.

Haven't made this but 3 cups of dry pasta should be about 8 ounces.

This sounds great! In answer to the previous comment, I understand the recipe to say measure 3 cups of dry penne pasta and cook it. The key is "3 cups of penne pasta, cooked". Not 3 cups of cooked penne pasta. I hope this helps.

It is 2 ounces dry pasta=1 cup cooked according to some websites I referenced. So 6 ounces uncooked should do it. This looks so good and easy to make!

Cook, I believe the recipe means for you to measure out 3 cups of dry penne, cook it, and then add to recipe. Oklahoma cook.

I translated 3 cups of cooked penne to roughly 12oz. for my recipe, but I rarely measure anything (it's a curse I inherited from my grandmother). The kids gobbled it up, my picky son had seconds and asked if there was enough to eat for dinner tomorrow!!! I will definitely be making this again. BTW, I used Ragu garden combination. YUMMY!!!

How much dry penne is 3 cups of cooked penne? This seems confusing to me and I want to make this recipe tonight. I am not a good cook and this seems simple enough and the reviews were great. Please help!

Great recipe, I even used lite ragu pasta sauce. I added a little bit of water(1/2cup) to the sauce when I added it to the browned meat and simmered for 10mins. Really Yummy and easy!
