I had to make some changes. Added more cheese and had to finish cooking in the microwave (it was taking much longer than said) we also added sour cream.
Excellent side dish. Quick and easy. I was even able to make it on the grill in a foil bag. I seasoned the potato mixture before adding the cheese to give it a little kick.
The recipe was very easy to follow and they turn out great each time!!
i've made this recipe several times and everyone loves it!! i do however have some trouble getting the potatoes to cook before the cheese melts. the next time i make it, i'm going to try boiling the potatoes for about 20 minutes first to give them a head start and then add the cheese about 10 minutes before serving just to give it time to melt. use mayo - miracle whip gives them a whang. mayo is perfect!!
these taters rock!!!!!!!!!!!! : )
I would make this recipe again but with some changes. Before the potatoe's were done the cheese started burning! However they were really good but some adjustments need made to recipe. I think next time I will add a little milk and cook longer at 350 instead of 400.
Since it's just my husband and me, I halved this recipe and it turned out too dry. Next time I'm going to use seasoned hash browns and cut the baking time in half. Think this recipe would've turned out very good if I hadn't halved it (or used a smaller pan).
How do you prepare the potato? I peeled and chunked them, is this how this is made? In response to your question: Yes, potatoes can be peeled, and then cut into 1/2-inch chunks. We are in the process of editing this recipe to include this direction. ~ Kraft Kitchen Expert ~
I made this recipe for 30 Police officers for a holiday luncheon. When it was gone they wanted me to make more.
The first time I made this recipe I took it to a company party. It was gone in no time and everyone wanted the recipe.
