I had to make this recipe 3 times in one week for my 7 and 10 year olds. They thought it was such a neat thing. It was just one extra step to make the octopus in my normal hotdog and noodle lunch, but they thought it was the coolest thing.
I always have to spice up my daughters meals so she will eat. Aside from car shaped hard boiled eggs, she loved this. She loves hot dogs anyway, but she thought it was so neat. I like the way the "legs" curl. It really does look like an octopus.
Very cute & FUN! The kids love to watch the octopus form! They are amazed!
I babysit a lot and I'm always trying to find something fun to do for them. One of them had recently broken his leg, and I found this. He was so excited when he saw and octopus in his Macaroni. It made his night.
I wanted a fast and easy dinner that my 4 kids would eat. They d the octopus. Even my 12 year old son asked if he was going to get one.
As a single mom of two active teens and a 4-year-old, I'm rarely able to get everyone together at the same time for a sit-down meal. Tonight I made this dinner for the family (I doubled the recipe and gave everyone two hotdogs, served with a side of peas), thinking just the 4-year old would get a kick out of it. Much to my surprise, even the teenagers thought it was great. The best part was that it kept everyone at the table. Thanks!
I made this recipe for my son's school lunch and it was a hit! All the children loved it and they asked their parents to make it as well. Very easy recipe!
My son is 8 now and still gets a kick out me cutting the octopus for him. We put it over Easy Mac too.
I started making this recipe when our son was 3 years old. He was so picky I could hardly get him to eat a thing. He GLADLY gobbled these up. He is now 4 years old and STILL asks for this to be made. I have made them with organic hot dogs, fake hot dogs and regular hot dogs. Great kiddo recipe!
Hot dogs aren't good for you... but when you do serve one this is a cute idea.
