Crunchy Asian Salad

Ramen isn't just for college students anymore. The crunchy noodles have moved to the potluck circuit in an Asian Coleslaw with a mix of sweet and tangy.

What You Need

env. (0.7 oz.) GOOD SEASONS Italian Dressing Mix

1/2

cup sugar

Tbsp. soy sauce

pkg. (3 oz. each) ramen noodle soup mix

pkg. (16 oz. each) coleslaw blend (cabbage slaw mix)

green onions, sliced

1/2

cup PLANTERS Dry Roasted Sunflower Kernels

1/2

cup PLANTERS Sliced Almonds, toasted

Make It

PREPARE dressing mix in small bowl as directed on envelope. Stir in sugar and soy sauce.

BREAK apart Noodles; place in large bowl. Discard Seasoning Packets or reserve for another use. Add coleslaw blend, onions, sunflower kernels and nuts to noodles; mix lightly.

ADD dressing; toss to coat.

Make Ahead

Dressing can be prepared ahead of time; refrigerate up to 24 hours before using. Noodles can also be crumbled the day before; place in resealable plastic bag along with the sunflower kernels and nuts. Seal bag and store at room temperature until ready to use to assemble salad.

Substitute

Prepare using GOOD SEASONS Asian Sesame Dressing Mix.

Popular with both kids and adults! Add 1-2 tbsp od toasted sesame seed for added flavor!

This is one of the best salads I've ever tasted. Every time I make it, someone always wants the recipe and can't believe how easy it is. I make it with only 1/4 cup sugar; only 1 pkg. dry ramen noodles; and increase sliced green onions. Also, I prepare the Italian dressing using the "less oil" step. It's also delicious without noodles, especially if you think you will have leftovers. Highly recommended!

The first time I made this recipe was for my son's Communion Party. I told everyone this was the first time I made it and to let me know what they think. The comments were GREAT!! It was simple and delicious. I have made it for EVERY party since. Today we are going to the company BBQ, I will be making this for our buffet. I work and have three children, I always use the 'Make-Ahead Tips'. I suggest this to everyone.
