Crunchy Asian Salad

Ramen isn't just for college students anymore. The crunchy noodles have moved to the potluck circuit in an Asian Coleslaw with a mix of sweet and tangy.

What You Need

env. (0.7 oz.) GOOD SEASONS Italian Dressing Mix

1/2

cup sugar

Tbsp. soy sauce

pkg. (3 oz. each) ramen noodle soup mix

pkg. (16 oz. each) coleslaw blend (cabbage slaw mix)

green onions, sliced

1/2

cup PLANTERS Dry Roasted Sunflower Kernels

1/2

cup PLANTERS Sliced Almonds, toasted

Make It

PREPARE dressing mix in small bowl as directed on envelope. Stir in sugar and soy sauce.

BREAK apart Noodles; place in large bowl. Discard Seasoning Packets or reserve for another use. Add coleslaw blend, onions, sunflower kernels and nuts to noodles; mix lightly.

ADD dressing; toss to coat.

Make Ahead

Dressing can be prepared ahead of time; refrigerate up to 24 hours before using. Noodles can also be crumbled the day before; place in resealable plastic bag along with the sunflower kernels and nuts. Seal bag and store at room temperature until ready to use to assemble salad.

Substitute

Prepare using GOOD SEASONS Asian Sesame Dressing Mix.

Everyone loved it, the soy sauce helped give it an unique taste that you wouldn't expect in a salad

I made this once and have been making it ever since. It is light, healthy, crunchy and yummy. Easy to make and a big hit. Easy to add to or not.

I didn't have vinegar so I substituted balsamic vinegar. It tasted awesome! Just a suggestion to try.

the first time i made this i did use the good seasons italian. this time i used the good seasons asian sesame. this was so much better, although we did like the italian dressing too.

I had this at a party and loved it! Can't wait to make it myself! The salad I tasted had sesame seeds in it and it was great! I think I will do the same. Also, I might put some nappa cabbage too, just to reinforce the Asian element. :)

I subsitutuded a couple of things. Instead of adding soy sauce, dry itlain mix, and sugar. I put it poppy seed dressing. I had to eye ball it. But it was a big hit at a summer party!

Definitely make this with the asian sesame dressing - it's so good! Every one who tastes this salad asks for the recipe. It's really delicious and a crowd pleaser!
