Crunchy Asian Salad recipe

I used to make a much more complicated and time consuming version of this salad, but there is no need. This one is so easy! And tastes almost identical.

This was a nice change to my usual Ramen Noodle salad - the dressing is different than what I usually make. I do want to say, however, that most ramen salads are missing a crucial step - toasting the nuts and noodles. Take 1/4 c. butter and melt it in a non-stick pan, add the ramen noodles, sliced almonds, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds and cook over med-low heat till toasted (so you can smell the nuts). The ramen noodles aren't as hard and the nuts taste so much better!

Whenever our friends come over for a bbq they ask me to make this. Its a once-a-week dish in our house, but not great as leftovers so be prepared to share if you have a small family. I add extra ramon noodles and use 1/2 toasted pine nuts and 1/2 toasted almonds because we love the crunchiness of the salad!

This salad is quick and easy...very delicious! I usually make it with only half of an onion, though. If I'm taking this to a friend's house, I mix the whole salad together and put the dressing in a to go cup to add later. It's been a hit with everyone I've made it for.

Interesting twist on a very popular cole slaw recipe. It was very good. The only downside is that it does not save well--too mushy. But, it is great for large gatherings. I would definately make it again.

This is a wonderful dish- I made the dressing using the 1/4 water/1/4 oil version too and I didn't miss the extra oil. I also used the seasoning packet from the ramen noodles (oriental flavor) in the dressing instead of the soy sauce. Delicious!

This salad is one of the best I've ever had and have passed it on to several friends. It's even delicious the next day!
