Crunchy Asian Salad

Ramen isn't just for college students anymore. The crunchy noodles have moved to the potluck circuit in an Asian Coleslaw with a mix of sweet and tangy.

What You Need

env. (0.7 oz.) GOOD SEASONS Italian Dressing Mix

1/2

cup sugar

Tbsp. soy sauce

pkg. (3 oz. each) ramen noodle soup mix

pkg. (16 oz. each) coleslaw blend (cabbage slaw mix)

green onions, sliced

1/2

cup PLANTERS Dry Roasted Sunflower Kernels

1/2

cup PLANTERS Sliced Almonds, toasted

Make It

PREPARE dressing mix in small bowl as directed on envelope. Stir in sugar and soy sauce.

BREAK apart Noodles; place in large bowl. Discard Seasoning Packets or reserve for another use. Add coleslaw blend, onions, sunflower kernels and nuts to noodles; mix lightly.

ADD dressing; toss to coat.

Make Ahead

Dressing can be prepared ahead of time; refrigerate up to 24 hours before using. Noodles can also be crumbled the day before; place in resealable plastic bag along with the sunflower kernels and nuts. Seal bag and store at room temperature until ready to use to assemble salad.

Substitute

Prepare using GOOD SEASONS Asian Sesame Dressing Mix.

a variation...try balsamic vinegar when making the dressing and try wonton noodels instead they dont get soggy as quickly...love, love, love this salad!!

I made this recipe for a recent cook-out. I cut the recipte in 1/2 and it was so easy to make. Also, everyone loved it!!

This was so good, my teen age daughter said it was her new favorite salad! She even took the left over in her lunch today! The next time I'm going to leave out the Ramen noodle and sprinkle them in when we eat it. By the time we got to seconds the crunch was gone, but it sitll was GOOD! I'm going to make it agian Sun. for a church carry in and my family can't wait!

I have been making this recipe since I first saw it in the KraftFoods magazine a few years ago. It is awesome and whenever I go to a cookout or potluck-it disappears!!! Try it-you'll like it!!!

I, too, used broccoli slaw and thought it had great flavor. It was a hit at Easter dinner! Seems like it makes a huge batch, so I'll probably halve the recipe next time.

Makes a lot and everyone asks for the recipe. I use the broccoli slaw instead of regular coleslaw mix. Just so yummy!!

I made this for a Christmas Eve get together, and got rave reviews. I've since forwarded it on to several people who asked for the recipe. Quick and easy and very yummy!!

Tried this at a friend's house and had to make it myself. Everyone loves it's unusual texture and taste. Mix just before serving.
