I made this recipe a couple of times because I was trying to get rid of a bunch of strawberries and limes that I had. I loved the pretzel crust, but I tried it with nilla wafers and it came out just as good.....Also made one with graham cracker was tasty...Garnished it with sliced strawberries..This is a tasty recipe.
I did find that depending on the brand of pretzels used, the crust can be salty. While Rold Gold are my favorite for snacking, Snyders or a store brand tend to be less salty and more "bready", producing a more favorable crust. Also, I subbstiuted the strawberry Cool Whip for even more flavor, and drizzeled with a simple strawberry syrup and a swirl of whipped cream.
The amount of butter is no where close to the amout that you need to make a crust, and even then, the crust is too salty. I would recommend adding more butter for the crust, and using unsalted pretzels.

I made this for a get together with friends, and everyone LOVED it!!! I made two pans, and by the time I was ALL GONE!!!! I highly recommend this one for a great dessert!
I made this recipe for New Years Day and everbody loved it it says to leave over night or 6 hours in the freezer,I left in in all night and until i was ready to serve it it was great thank you for the recipe. Thank You
It went over well for the holidays. However. I changed one ingredient. I used honey graham crackers instead of pretzels because of the salt. Tasted just a good as the pretzels did.
I made this for my husband and his friends who were helping redo our roof. I thought that this might be a bit to girly for them, but I was pleasantly surprised when they all sat at the picnic table with 2-3 pieces on their plates. They all said it was very refreshing on a hot summer day, and they all loved it. I had the empty pan to prove it.
