Slow-Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Your slow cooker does the heavy lifting in our classic beef dish. Just prep some pasta while hearty beef and fresh garlic, onions and mushrooms simmer away.

What You Need

lb. beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes

oz. fresh mushrooms, halved

onion, chopped

clove garlic, minced

cup beef broth

tsp. paprika

tsp. salt

cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

Tbsp. flour

Tbsp. GREY POUPON Dijon Mustard

pkg. (16 oz.) egg noodles, uncooked

Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley

Make It

PLACE meat, mushrooms, onions and garlic in slow cooker. Add broth, paprika and salt. Cover with lid. Cook on LOW 7 to 8 hours (or on HIGH 5 hours).

MIX sour cream, flour and mustard. Stir into ingredients in slow cooker until well blended. Cook, covered, on LOW 15 min. Meanwhile, cook noodles as directed on package.

DRAIN noodles; place in large serving bowl. Add meat mixture; mix lightly. Sprinkle with parsley.

It was wonderful and so easy. I used Pot roast meat instead.(it was in the freezer) partially thawed and chunked it. I used 1 cup sour cream. I also cooked the noodles in the crock 10 mins. before serving. It pick up the falvor of the broth. This will be my all time favorite.

This was the best stroganoff recipe i have tried. I used about a half of medium size tub of sour cream. and omitted the cream cheese.the cream cheese didnt sound very good. i cooked up some egg noodles and then i added them to the crock pot. mix well. then let set about 10 mins and it absorbs all the excess juce. even my fussy kids liked it. yummmy

Use beefy mushroom soup instead of beef broth to give the recipe a thicker consistency. Or half a can of broth & half a can of beefy mushroom.

IT WAS JUST TOO WATERY. I LIKE STROGANOFF WITH A RICH THICK GRAVY, NOODLES & SOUR CREAM.

I make this recipe all the time, the only thing I add is some sour cream. then I cook up those wide noodles (1lb) seperately and mix them into the crock pot when it is done that way it is not too runny. This is sosososo delicious and EASY. My picky dear husband LOVES it.

i don't know what happened but the sauce was like water. the cream chesse did not make it thick. scary.

I don't think it's the user's fault if it were too runny, because mine came out the same way. I added Miracle Gravy Thickener to it to make it thicker. It doesn't change the taste, but it keeps it from being soupy. It was VERY delicious though. I would highly recommend it! Maybe a little less beef broth :) Coudos to the creator!
