Slow-Cooker Saucy Meatballs

One fan told us, "This is my go-to recipe for spaghetti and meatballs!" What makes them so flavorful? A stretch in the slow-cooker with all that sauce.

What You Need

pkg. (6 oz.) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Turkey

1-1/2

lb. lean ground beef

egg, beaten

1/2

cup water

cups sliced fresh mushrooms

green peppers, cut into strips

cups spaghetti sauce

lb. spaghetti, uncooked

1/3

cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Make It

COMBINE first 4 ingredients; shape into 1-inch balls. Place in slow cooker; top with vegetables and sauce. Cover with lid.

COOK on LOW 6 to 8 hours (or on HIGH 3 to 4 hours).

COOK spaghetti as directed on package, omitting salt. Drain spaghetti; serve topped with sauce and cheese.

Make it Easy

Make your slow cooker preparation even faster. Shape the meatballs and cut-up vegetables the night before. Refrigerate until ready to add to the slow cooker. Top with spaghetti sauce and cook as directed.

Cooking Know-How

Every time you lift the lid of your slow cooker, precious heat is lost. So, keep the lid on and resist the urge to peek!

This was okay. A lot of the meatballs fell apart because they were too moist.. the ones along the sides of the crockpot stayed together. Most of the sauce also soaked into the meatballs. It tasted pretty good but mostly ended up being REALLY meaty spaghetti sauce. I think I would bake the meatballs separately first if I was to make again... which kind of defeats the whole purpose of using the slow cooker.

I thought these meatballs were a little too moist. Some fell apart in the slow cooker. My husband thought they were great. I used slightly less green pepper but that part seemed fine. Next time I'll add some garlic and try using leaner meat since it was a little greasy.

We make this all the time and everyone loves it. We leave out the mushrooms and the spaghetti and just serve with garlic bread. Very yummy!

I have made this several times. If you bake the meatballs before you put it in the Crock pot, you will have less grease. I also add Garlic salt, Knorr's beef seasoning, Italian seasoning, and Pepper to the Meat mixture. To the Store bought sauce I add, Salt, Garlic, Garlic salt, Italian seasoning, Sugar, for a richer flavor. My Family, and Friends LOVE this.

The only good thing about this recipe, is that it was easy to make. The meatballs were too moist, and the little sauce that remained was bland.

I made this for my boyfriend and after the first bite we both said, 'it's just bland'. The meatballs were OK but the sauce needs help with more spices (think your own spaghetti sauce). I would try less peppers and use onions instead. Also a little parmesan wouldn't hurt either.
